Take in the culture at Theater District Houston, where performances from the Houston Ballet, Houston Grand Opera, Houston Symphony, and Society for the Performing Arts abound. REDISCOVER GREEN

Located in the heart of Downtown, is Houston’s own Central Park —  Discovery Green, a 12-acre park with activities galore. This grassy oasis showcases art installations, a playground, a skating rink, and even a tranquil pond for canoeing. Head north for an afternoon at Market Square Park, a site that was once home to Houston’s original City Hall. It’s Historic District location now thrives as an open-air hub for live performances and public art exhibitions. For an outdoor history lesson, Sam Houston Park offers 19 acres of Houston history. The Heritage Society has called this green space home since 1954 and still showcases eight historic structures including a log cabin and St. John Church, dating back as far as 1823.
