Midtown Houston has more than 40 art venues for you to explore. Come support local artistry at venues like Harambee Art Gallery for eco-conscious beauty or the Station Museum of Contemporary Art for thought-provoking pieces. On a daily basis, you can attend a variety of exhibitions, events, and live theater. Flagship organizations include DiverseWorks known as a ‘cultural agitator’, The Ensemble Theatre, nationally recognized with new plays every season and Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston: MATCH. There are dozens of vibrant murals located throughout the district and the crown jewel of Midtown’s art-centric community is Midtown Park, which is home to five, stunning public art installations. Also known as Midtown’s “art park” this respite fuses art with nature in vivid large-scale interpretations. The artworks featured draw inspiration from nature, the neighborhood, and park visitors. You will also see key aspects of the park, from the “bayou” landscape to the scenic garden walk highlighting native plants and small inhabitants represented in the artwork throughout the park. This is a peaceful place to take a break from the city hustle.

Midtown District

Midtown Houston is home to dozens of thriving arts and culture experiences, from music venues and public art to historic architecture and stunning museum collections. This district brings quality cultural arts-based programming, projects, and events to the community that combine nature, visual arts, and sustainable development. Annual events include Art in the Park, our fine art festival, and Mistletoe Market, a holiday-inspired market. Both events feature musical performances, art for sale, craft classes, public art installations and amazing selfie stations.

Art in the Park - Midtown Houston’s Art in the Park is a celebration of Houston’s diverse art community. Every year, the market is held on the first Saturday in April, showcasing a curated selection of local vendors, artisans, performers, and guests who have enjoyed a variety of food, activities, music, and games.

Mistletoe Market- Midtown Houston’s Mistletoe Market is an annual holiday celebration and destination market. This high-energy, NYC-style, holiday-inspired market is located in the heart of Midtown Houston at Bagby Park, an urban park space surrounded by a walkable community, hi-rise living, and vibrant nightlife.
