There are no shortage of ways to get your hands on a delicious cup in Houston. So, ditch Starbucks and support local businesses at one of these fine coffee shops.

Agora Cafe

Who hasn’t heard of this local institution? After suffering from a fire in 2010, Agora Cafe rose from the ashes, much to Houstonians joy. This cozy, two-leveled, European cafe not just offers coffee but a wide selection of beer, wine and Greek desserts. It is a great place to  work, read a book or have a casual night with friends.

Boomtown Coffee

This Heights cafe is one of the best places to go for specialty brewed coffee. Whether you are looking to sit inside and relax, or grab one of their small batch bags to enjoy at home, Boomtown Coffee serves it all up with love.

Siphon

For a different coffee experience, look no further than Siphon. Located in Montrose, Siphon has a unique way of brewing coffee with their own method using halogen burners to slow-roast a cup of coffee. They are intensified and one-of-a-kind.

Black Hole

This Montrose hotspot has a menu of all varieties of coffee so you are bound to find something to enjoy. Comfy couches, a dog-friendly patio and delicious pastries make this cafe a no-frills environment to relax and take in the morning.

Common Bond Bistro and Bakery

Take your pick from their selection of macchiatos, cappuccinos or a variety of lattes when you enter this chic bakery. With free WiFi and a selection of pastries, cookies and cakes, we dare you not to come back for more.

A 2nd Cup

Not only will their coffee satisfy your taste buds, but every purchase at this non-profit cafe goes to fight human trafficking. Grab a Chai Fritz (chai and double espresso), Andy’s Mint Mocha (mint and mocha), or one of their many pastries and know you are doing good in the world. They also have a large weekend brunch menu that is served until 2 p.m.
